a half century ago.......the world was pretty much the same....viewed from Outer Space, anyway........Let's spell it for you, how about it? How do you spell "that"?....with a couple of capital 'S's? One can live Life @18, but have to wait until '21' to see it..........Fashion may be the only differentiality....after all 'what you eat (consume at every level of interpretation) is 'who you are'......We are amalgams of every sensory input....well, every input...on every level.......Watch where you're standing, there's some dog doo over there!

A dozen years ago, when I imagined my 5th 'alter' persona for the withering MYSPACE SAGA, I'd never heard of Doug Jones or seen his subsequent creature/characters in Pan's Labyrinth or The Weight Of Water......being more inspired by creatures from my youth, like The Creature From The Black Lagoon....My Intention was sympathetic, not alienatingly 'monstrous', and the 5 personas, with differing 'profile' backstories, were designed from philosophical/psychological substratas and the conscious interpolation of conceptual ideas that emerged......Although I've not yet seen TWOW...waiting until it is on SHOWTIME.....I recognize my Amphibian brother, already.........looking 'beneath the Surface', to what lies Within.......

Last week, MGMHD presented

back-to-back LGBT 'themed' Films........The Trials of Oscar Wilde, followed by The Children's Hour....both done in 1960.......when I was in 9th Grade......I'm remembering how repressive American Society was, then......I recalled, humorously...to a friend, a movie theater in my home town, being closed down, temporarily....by a restraining order.....for screening a film about an unwed mother....the word 'pregnant' had been used....and an unwed couple had shared a bed, in flagrant disregard of Christian Morality......Yet, radioactive monsters could emerge from contaminated oceans to destroy entire cities.....that was just fine! But, girls kissing girls or boys holding hands.....NOT! Thank you James Garner, Audrey Hepburn and Shirley Maclaine......for airing those soiled sheets!

Thoughtfully 'adult' animated films are growing up....from Ralph Bakshi's Fritz the Cat .....to Fernando Trueba's Chico & Rita......on the other side of the see-saw, however, Marvel Comics' mindless, violent excitement still reigns at the box office.......
