My grandfather got a Televiewing apparatus, housed in a bulky cabinet, in 1949....soon, there appeared such silly stuff as Captain Midnight, Winky Dink and Rootie Kazootie....... I still have the "magic decoder", the "magic screen" and my Rootie doll, a constant companion to the wooden modelling doll and Scarlett...yum, yum.......let's make a Kazootie Witch peanut butter, banana and jelly sandwich.
AND.....THERE WAS "WINKY DINK"..........
makes the junk on kiddy tv, now, look pretty sophisticated, doesn't it? {it was fun to draw on the screen, though...i had to remember to wipe the screen before my grandfather watched Edward R. Murrow's See It Now, however}

Now that Merlin is no longer my red-blooded consort for high tea......I'm reduced to having the 'Dolls', of my Youth, as companions.....although, now, they seem oblivious of one another's presence, even in close proximity....When I was a kid, I would have interpreted this 'scenario' as "Bimbo's flirting with Scarlett, as Betty Boop is holding hands with Mr. Mannequin, while sitting on Rootie's lap. After she'd had Rhett, then...rejected....settled for Rootie, who was eyeing Betty, whose 'ex' was dog-humping her.....Scarlet was, I think, a bit disgusted.....and is back to stealing Ashley, again, from her friend, Melanie.....Scarlett's feathers are ruffled, regardless, and her 'curtain' dress has faded with age....And, for the moment, she's 'stuck' with that stupid 'dog/boy', Bimbo, after Betty decided to run off with that hingy piece of wood....Perhaps, Mighty Mouse will fly in to 'Save The Day'.....if, distracted by all this Glamour, he isn't eaten by Felix or Tom.....
